The adoption of high-tech-driven methods for training has grown in the past few years, especially through the use of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and in high precision cases Mixed Reality. When focusing on Mixed Reality we immediately think about Microsoft Hololens 2 and how this specific hardware is being used to elevate healthcare training with interactive holograms.

Different forms of medical training are being integrated into a Mixed reality format, from the basics of studying human anatomy, disease diagnostics, and further surgery training. Having the advantage of creating an application while having the ability to interact with virtual objects in a “real” object, results in having highly beneficial training outcomes.

Therefore, today, Interhaptics is collaborating with Artiness to empower the development of hand tracking and interactions in a Hololens 2 environment for medical and surgical treatment applications. Artiness actively develops applications for Hololens 2 and is adding into their creation Interhaptics hand interaction technology, empowering their applications with precise hand gestures and object manipulations resulting in realistic and accurate applications.

“Hands are the most natural way to interact with 3D content in Mixed Reality (MR), and the implementation of natural interactions in digital content is still a hurdle that content creators need to face while creating content. We are happy that Artiness trusts Interhaptics to empower their scalable surgical applications. “ Eric Vezzoli, Interhaptics CEO.

“The Artiness mission is to develop pioneering and reliable solutions for medical doctors, and in doing so we want to deliver our tools on high-end Mixed Reality technologies empowered by efficient and human-friendly interaction interfaces. We know for sure that Interhaptics will be part of this journey!” Filippo Piatti, Artiness CEO.

Interhaptics is a software company specializing in haptics. Interhaptics provides hand interactions and haptic feedback development and deployment tools for extended reality and mobile applications. Interhaptics’ mission is to enable the growth of a scalable haptics ecosystem. Interhaptics strives to deliver top-notch development tools for the XR, mobile, and console developer community, and the interoperability of haptics-enabled content across any haptics-enabled platform.
